Chapter Meeting Notes

Our next meeting is on Monday, November 18th, 2024 – Program: A visit to 4 steam railroads by Jim Pearson with refreshments.

Meeting begins at 7pm at the old L&N Depot on West Arch Street, at the railroad, Madisonville, KY.

2 speaker sets FREE. These would be nice in a train room, workshop, garage, etc. each has a 12 in. and a 5 in. speaker and ducted port. Size 13×22, make a speaker box or wall cutout. Call Rich Hane 270-836-6169.

NRHS Chapter Photo Contest Dates

Below are the dates for upcoming chapter photo contests. During the months listed all members are invited to shoot pictures and submit no more than two entries each to webmaster@westkentuckynrhs.org by the deadline listed next to each contest. You must be a paid member of the chapter to participate in these contests.

We will judge the photos and select 1st through 3rd place and the winners at our meetings following the contest and they will be presented in the PennyRail and on the chapter website.

At least the 1st place winners will be used to produce a chapter calendar for the next year.

All submissions must have a caption that lists at least the railroad, location and date with photographers credit and any other relevant information.

September 1-30, 2024
Submission Deadline: October 7th, 2024 and judged during our October meeting. This will allow time for the chapter calendars to be printed in time for the holidays and they will be brought to the November meeting.

January 1-31, 2025
Submission Deadline: February 7, 2025

March 1-31, 2025
Submission Deadline: April 7, 2025

May 1-31, 2025
Submission Deadline: June 7, 2025

July 1-31, 2025
Submission Deadline: August 7, 2025
