This is a picture of the north approach to the Cairo bridge over the Ohio River. If you are going thru Cairo and approach the “Tunnel” thru the approach you will see a school on the left. This picture was taken from the school parking lot. This happened the same night the levee was blown and crews found the collapse around 5 A.M. They aren’t sure if the damage was from the shaking of the explosion or rain damage or both. CN is bringing in rock to begin repairing the damage and as you can see they are burying old hoppers as part of the reinforcement. – Photos submitted by Jim Futrell
